Meaning of Badge
예전부터 배지는 다양한 집단에서 사용되어 집단 내 구성원의 신분이나 직급 등을 나타내어 정체성을 형성하는 역할을 하기도 했습니다. 이러한 배지는 또한 집단 내의 소속감이나 주인의식을 높여주기도 합니다.
오늘날 배지는 굉장히 다양한 디자인으로 제작되며, 그안에는 단지 소속감 외에도 개인의 개성이나 신념 등을 담기도 합니다. 이러한 특성으로 자신의 취향에 맞는 배지를 취미로 모으는 사람들도 많이 등장하게 되었습니다.
Badges have been used invarious groups, and they have played a role in forming identity by indicating the status or rank of members within the group. These badges can also increase a sense of belonging and ownership within the group.
Today's badges are produced in a great variety of designs, and in addition to just belonging, they also contain individuality and beliefs. Due to these characteristics, many people gathered badges that suit their tastes as a hobby.
홍익대학교 조형대학
Hongik Univ. College of Design & Arts
홍익대학교 조형대학은 1988년도 홍익대학교 세종캠퍼스가 개교된 이래로 인문학적 소양과 예술적 감각을 바탕으로한 융합적이고 창의적인 디자인 전문인을 육성해왔습니다.
홍익대학교 조형대학 학생 모두 조형인으로서의 자긍심을 갖고, 저마다의 관심분야를 연구하고 탐색하는 과정을 통해 훗날 시각, 산업, 미디어, 영상, 애니메이션 등 각 분야를 선두하는 디자이너로 성장하시길 기원하는 마음을 담아 제작했습니다.
Since the opening of Hongik University Sejong Campus in 1988, Hongik University College of Design and Arts has fostered fusion and creative design professionals based on humanities literacy and artistic sense.
With the hope that all Hongik University College of Design and Arts students have pride as formative people, and through the process of researching and exploring their respective interests, they will grow into leading designers in each field such as visual, industry, media, firm, animation, etc.
디자인 설명
Design Info.
전반적인 디자인은 홍익대학교 교표에서 모티프를 따왔습니다. 교표 중앙에 있는 양피지 부분을 이용하여 조형대학을 상징하는 교표를 새로 디자인하고자 해보았습니다.
① 한문으로 표기된 홍익인간을 홍익조형으로 바꾸어 넣었고, ② 건교년도인 1946 대신 조형대를 상징하는 연필과 펜을 그려넣었으며, ③ 건교이념인 널리 사람을 이롭게하라는 라틴어 대신 조형대학을 영문으로 표기하였습니다.
홍익대학교의 정체성을 지니면서도 동시에 조형대학만의 디자인 전문적인 아이덴티티가 잘 드러날 수 있는 교표를 제작하고자 하였습니다.
The overall design is inspired by Hongik University's emblem. Using the parchment in the center of the emblem, I tried to design a new emblem that symbolizes the College of Design and Arts.
① '홍익인간' written in Chinese were replaced with '홍익조형' (It means Hongik Design&Arts),② Instead of the year 1946, the year of establishment, a pencil and a pen were drawn to symbolize the College of Design and Arts.③ The founding ideology of college was written in English instead of Latin to benefit people widely.
I wanted to create a new emblem that possesses the identity of Hongik University and at the same time has a unique design professional identity.
